Description
Well here we go, what we have is a 14x70 single wide mobile home on 5.8 acres of land in the eastern Tennessee mountains.  This home is located in Dayton/Spring City which is approx. 50 miles north of Chattanooga and 60 miles south of Knoxville.  We live approx. 10 miles from Spring City and 20 miles from Dayton The house is a 1979 Fleetwood with asphalt shingles and storm windows.  It has vinyl siding, central heating and air.  Also included is a fireplace with propane logs (ventless).  I rent a 250 gallon tank for $55.00 a year.  The fireplace will heat the whole house by itself.  I went through 125 gallons last year.  The fireplace is a corner version complete with a mantel and screen. I do need to tell you about the taxes, they are a killer.  I almost had to take out a loan but I did manage to pay them.  They run $76.00 a year.  (That is not a missprint--$76.00 a year)  My homeowners policy runs $350.00 a year.  Now having moved from Florida, where my taxes and insurance exceeded $7000,  I died and gone to heaven. I share a well with my next door neighbor (the only one nearby) and pay $20.00 a month for the water. Now if you need alot of neighbors, this place AIN'T for you.  Almost all of the homes up here, are on 6-10+acres.  Most homes up here are log cabins or mobile homes.  This home has high speed internet provided by the local phone company and the T.V. is DIRECT Dish with local channels. (2 seperate dish's).  If you want cable internet and t.v. the local phone company can do. The home itself will be sold with all appliances along with a washer and dryer.  I have installed a small fenced in area for our dog to use.   A small shed will go with the home.  There is plenty of storage underneath the home also. The layout of the land is as follows, approx. 1 acre is somewhat level (where the house sets), and then it drops down to a knoll which is flat.  At that point, it goes down the mountain to a stream (the stream does not belong to me).  We have thought about putting a double wide down at the knoll, but my new job forces us to move.  We have a garden area cleared and we had tomatoes, lettuce, radish, beans, watermellon, collards, cantalope, and squash.  We have since cleared the crop area as it has been harvested. Now for the wildlife: deer and turkey abound.  Humming birds and just about any other kind of bird, are around here.  You can hunt on your own land, you can shoot off your weapons any time that you want. Dayton has a super WALMART and a new LOWES.  LAZY-BOY, GOODMANS (a/c manufacture), ROBINSONS, and many other companies are located in the area.  Also of intrest to many, VOLKSWAGON is building a new plant in Chattanooga and is said to be needing upwards of 10-15000 people either in the plant or supporting companies.  There is 2 local country stores within a mile (one of which sells beer).  Our mailbox is approx 1/2 mile away which is also where the school bus picks up and drops off the kiddies. Dayton has a golf course but if golfing is your thing, Crossville is about 25 miles away and it is the hub of golfing in Tn. Weekend bike riders are a BIG thing up here as many, many bikers love going up the mountains.  The GREAT SMOKIES, DOLLYWORLD, BRISTOL SPEEDWAY, are all nearby.  Gambling is handled by HARRAHS casino in CHEROKEE.  Now if fishing is your thing, well we have bass, trout, crappie, catfish.  The Tennessee river is approx. 10 miles away with plenty of marinas and ramps.  If intrested, please give us a 24 hour notice, and we will be able to show the home to you.  We have a local real estate pro to handle the closing. I have had quite a few requests for my phone number, so here it is: 423-533-4107
